quartzite bead in Kansas.  
What a surprise!  When we
lasered it, the bead turned
out to be very, very old:  
right around 8,000+  
Comparative with late paleo
quartzite points.

Valley in California.  A reader sent us these along
with a great insitu of a flint artifact from the area.
